North Shore Physical Therapy in Port Jefferson Station

Manual Orthopedic Physical Therapy

North Shore Myofascial Physical Therapy specializes in hands-on manual physical therapy. We treat only 2 patients per hour at our clinic in Port Jefferson Station, which allows us to provide 20-25 minutes of “hands on” manual therapy at every treatment session.

We also use other manual therapy techniques to help restore patients, with almost any diagnosis, to the functional level they enjoyed before they were injured.

What is Myofascial Release?

Myofascial Release is a safe (and very effective) hands-on technique that involves applying gentle, sustained pressure into the Myofascial connective tissue restrictions to eliminate pain and restore motion.

Please don’t be fooled by the term “myofascial release”. It’s a very intense and involved structural technique, and it absolutely works.

The body is wholly composed of fascia: this important point has been proven and discussed in many research studies. It is truly the missing link.

Using this technique, we can make immense progress with all diagnoses and post- surgical cases to restore significant range of motion and muscle strength.

Other Treatments

We also use other manual therapy techniques to help restore patients — with almost any diagnosis — to the functional level they enjoyed before they were injured:

Whether you are a police officer, fireman, athlete, dancer, senior citizen, baby boomer, weekend warrior, musician, sanitation worker, electrician, office worker, young, elderly or just a sedentary person, you will benefit from Myofascial Release.
